Killymoon Rangers 0-4 Armagh City
City made it two league wins out of two on the road as they scored four for the second successive Saturday.
City dominated from the kick off and should have taken the lead on 12 minutes when new signing Kevin Keegan’s cross was headed over by Gareth Grimley. A couple of minutes later Keegen met a superb diagonal ball to volley over. City took a well deserved lead in the seventeenth minute when Matthew Hynds fired home a superb 25 yard free kick.
Midway through the half an Eamon Kelly volley was pushed away by the home keeper. The visitors doubled their lead minutes later when the ball broke kindly in the box to give Kevin Keegan the opportunity to score a debut goal.
The home side’s only real opportunity of the half came just before the interval when they shot over when well placed.
The home side were much more purposeful in the second half and stopped City from playing their passing game. It was the visitors however who scored next to put the game beyond doubt when on the hour mark following some fine build up by Dale Montgomery he found Shea McGerrigan who cut the ball back for Kelly to fire home.
The final half hour of the game saw the Killymoon having their best spell of the game and had it not been for at least two superb saves, a goal line clearance and some poor finishing from the home side the afternoon could have become a lot more uncomfortable.
In added on time at the end of the game City put the icing on the cake when a good through pass from Kelly found Keegan who cut the ball back for Gareth Grimley to score with the final kick of the game.
