City wrapped up pre-season on Saturday with a 1-1 draw against Premiership outfit Warrenpoint Town.
Fans hoping to see Stephen Murray return to Holm Park were disappointed as work commitments stopped him from facing his old teammates, but Town still brought a strong team to Holm Park.
City started brightly and took an early lead when Marty Havern set Shea McGerrigan through and he finished at the second attempt after a fine initial save by Parr.
The Eagles went in ahead at the break, but Warrenpoint came out strongly in the second half. They were soon on level terms, after John Connolly in the City goal did well to keep out Mark Hughes’ initial effort, but brother Daniel Hughes was on hand to thump in the rebound.
Substitute Shea Campbell had a pair of good efforts on goal, as did fellow replacement Dwayne McGlone, but a draw was a fair result and meant City ended the pre-season undefeated after previous wins against Windmill Stars, St Mary’s, Ballinamallard United, Newry City, Tandragee Rovers and Dollingstown.
