City finish with a flourish

Glebe Rangers 0 Armagh City 2

City finished up a wonderful season with a comfortable 2-0 win at the Riada Stadium in Ballymoney on Saturday, with goals from Andy Moore and Conor McNamee enough to see off Glebe Rangers.

The Eagles might have scored a bagful on the day, but the end-of-season feel to the fixture left both teams content by the final whistle. Shea McGerrigan had a few early chances to get on the scoresheet, but eventually set up Moore to nod home an inviting left-footed corner.

Glebe had a man sent off in the second half following an unnecessary confrontation and young striker McNamee finished the game off as a contest soon after with a neat lobbed finish.

The Eagles finished off the league campaign with 15 straight Championship 2 victories to match their 15 home league wins, another incredible achievement to add to a long list from this memorable 2013/14 campaign.

Well done to all the players and management on a superb year!
