City look to continue promotion push with visit of Wakehurst

Armagh City face Country Antrim visitors Wakehurst on Saturday knowing that a win will keep their Belfast Telegraph Championship Two promotion bid firmly on track.
City currently top-the-table two points clear of their nearest challengers, PSNI, but have the comfort of two games in hand on their closest rivals.
With five Holm Park league matches still to play during the run-in, the local lads are in a strong position to progress to a higher grade of football by the end of the season.
Nothing can be taken for granted, however, as Armagh found out at the weekend when they had to grind out a narrow 1-0 away win over unfancied Lurgan Celtic.
City clinched the encounter with a 78th minute tap-in score from midfielder Philip Donnelly but failed to reach their normal footballing heights on a poor pitch.

But they should feel more confident of collecting the spoils on Saturday against mid-table strugglers Wakehurst who they defeated 2-0 earlier in the season with strikes from prolific scorer Stephen Murray and talented midfielder Matthew Hynds.
Both should again be in the squad for this weekend’s clash as City defend their unbeaten league record on the superb synthetic Holm Park pitch – tailor-made for their fluent passing football style.
Armagh have a settled side at present and goalkeeper Sean Morgan should be joined in the squad by defenders Dale Montgomery, Ultan Lennon, Dara Noonan, Ryan McGerrigan and Paul Carvill.
Club captain Liam Cullen will vie for selection in midfield, along with Matthew Hynds, Eamon Kelly and Shea McGerrigan, while Kevin Keegan, Gareth Grimley, Luke Grimley and the powerful Andy Moore could also come into manager Marty Rice’s thoughts.
Up front, Stephen Murray will be hoping to add to his 37-goal tally for the season and he could be joined by new partner-in-crime and fellow scoring machine, Gavin McParland.
Everything is set for a cracking game which kicks-off in Holm Park, Armagh, this Saturday, April 19, at 3pm. All welcome.
