Dromore Amateurs 0-7 Armagh City Ladies
Homecare sponsored Armagh City Ladies got back to winning ways again running rampant away to Dromore Amateurs.
Five minutes into the game Siobhan Mackle got the ladies off the mark
when she ran on to a through ball from midfield and placed it to the left of the keeper and into the net. Ten Minutes later a high cross into the 6 yard area from Joanne Grover saw Mackle got her 2nd with a looping header. In another move two minutes later, another cross into the box from the right saw captain Megan Cinnamond shoot low from the back post to make it 3-0 to City. City with majority of the possession had chance after chance. A fine shot from Grover on the right was met with a equally brilliant save from the Dromore keeper. Soon after, Amy Mullholland picked the ball up on the edge of the box and found space for a shot which kindly deflected beyond the keeper and into the back of the net. Mackle was to complete her hat-trick when the Dromore centre back scuffed her clearance and the ball fell kindly to Mackle on the 18 to see her left foot shot beat the keeper. City Ladies 5-0 up at half time.
The second half seen some changes in formation as a few City girls were carrying knocks. With Mackle pushed into midfield gave Megan Bothwell the chance to push forward and it paid off when Dromore could not clear from the corner and Bothwell was there for the tap in. Dromore’s keeper pulled off another fine save from a Danielle Creaney shot. The last of the goals came when City broke down the right and the ball played in found Claire Taylor with only the keeper to beat she scored Citys 7th and her 3rd of the season. Well Done City Ladies.
It turned out to be a comfortable victory for City who now face a tough away fixture to Derry City next week Thursday 10th May.
